At School, Week of 2-8-10
From HL’s teachers:
Hello Everyone,
We have had a fantastic week studying music. The kids read about and listened to Charlie Parker; we played our own instruments and sang lots of songs! We will defiantly keep our instruments around and play them more in the classroom in the coming weeks.
February 14th is Oregon’s Birthday, so we will spend next week learning about our state. We will look at and make our own map of Oregon. We will talk about our rivers, mountains, forests and ocean. The kids will also learn about Chinook salmon, and we will make our own of these as well.
I’m not sure if making a salmon is a cooking project or arts & crafts…
Filed under School Daze | Comment (0)Next Thursday is Grandfriends day! We will be welcoming grand friends into our classroom from 10:30-11:30. We will have a snack and do a project together, and then have the opportunity to explore the classroom. If you do not have a grand friend who is able to attend parents are welcome to come in their place. If your child does not normally attend school on Thursdays, but has a Grand friend who would like to come participate, they are more then welcome to join us during that time. Please let us know if this is the case.
Please note that we don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day here. Please do not send Valentines or candy to school.
Our next Kabbalat Shabbat will be Friday February 19th at 8:30 am in the Ballroom. Please join us for songs, blessings and challah!
Thanks and have a great weekend!
Jessica and Mya
